untitled

WHEW IT'S DONE.

Sculpture for 3D Design. The assignment was to "extend" a 2x4. I wasn't allowed to use anything but a 2x4 (no extra wood allowed sob), wood glue (no nails allowed either...), and paint. I guess it might look sort of small in the pictures but it's pretty large.
It's kinda funny how different it looks from my original design... It was supposed to stand vertically and twist upward, but it was too heavy to stand upright without nailing it down, so I sorta just tossed it onto the table in exasperation. It landed in the position it's in in the pictures and I was like, "Wait... I think I might like it better this way?" So then I went to paint it and it DEFINITELY looked better laying horizontally LOL. |D Mistakes that work in my favor are my favorite.
The center part was also supposed to be smooth and ribbon-like instead of the blocks, but I didn't have enough wood to make a ribbon twist like that... Turned out to be more structurally sound this way though so I'm happy with it. I've had to move it around a lot, so if it hadn't been very sturdy I would have had a huge problem ahahaha.
ANYWAY god I ramble too much. Gotta go to math. P:

My goodness I can practically feel the bullshit you went through to make this. I hope you get a good grade for it.
